This two-storey home on Albert Street, Hamilton East, is typical of the exterior maintenance challenges we see across Hamilton’s brick-and-weatherboard properties: a metal tile roof carrying visible lichen growth, gutters packed with leaf litter, and general grime built up on the cladding and glazing.
The roof lichen in particular had spread across large sections of the tile profile, the kind of growth that traps moisture and accelerates surface wear if left untreated.

Our Process
Our team carried out a full four-part exterior service in a single visit:
- Roof treatment — Our technician worked from the roof using full fall-arrest safety gear (harness, anchor points, and rope system), applying our soft wash treatment to break down lichen growth without the surface damage that comes with high-pressure blasting on tile or metal roofing.
- Building wash — The full exterior, including weatherboard cladding and brick veneer, was soft washed to lift grime and organic staining while protecting the paint finish and mortar joints.
- Gutter cleaning — Gutters were cleared of accumulated leaves and debris along the entire run, restoring free water flow ahead of the wetter months.
- Window cleaning — Exterior glazing was cleaned as part of the same visit, finishing the property’s presentation from ground level up.
Throughout the job, our fully-equipped service vehicle stayed on-site, supplying water and cleaning solution directly to the roof and wash lines, which keeps the job efficient and minimises disruption to the property.

Instead of high-pressure washing, we applied a professional soft wash roof treatment to break down moss, algae, and lichen at the source.
